Nigerians all over the world are unanimous in their condemnation of this cowardly act. Such action is not representative of the character of Nigerian citizens. We are a peace-loving people who make positive contributions in whatever community we reside.

We have watched with dismay the faceoff between “Lagos Elders” and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND).

Despite the fascination with dreadlocks, many fear growing dreadlocks due to the unproven notion that they are a permanent hairstyle. Now salons are generating thousands of dollars providing dreadlock removal services. By definition dreadlocks are heavily matted coils of hair which form by themselves eventually fusing together to form a single dread. This is possible in all hair types, if the hair is allowed to grow naturally over time.

The fact remains that in Nigeria's political space dogs don't eat dogs. It has been proven again and again. This is a behaviour that helps perpetuate corruption and bold-faced illegality in the dealings of individual and agents of government on behalf of Nigerians, without regard to the consequences of that behaviour and the effect on the image of Nigeria and Nigerians in the Diaspora.

The petition is for the immediate removal/withdrawal of the immunity from public prosecution, granted the Executive arm of the Nigerian political class. The system of scrutiny whereby any executive is charged with impropriety while in office must be seen to be water-tight to prevent any misuse and abuse. It must be established by law through legislation, to protect diligent, honest, and scrupulous executives from the possible witch-hunt of corrupt lieutenants and others who may feel offended by the actions of such honest executive
