In an effort to woo Hungarian investors and business executives, the Embassy of Nigeria Budapest officially displayed booklets containing ex-dictator Sani Abacha's photo as the Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to Dr. Richard Ngwu, the President of the Organization, they decided to stage the demonstration to protest the “unjustified denial of Dr. Orji Kalu’s bail.”  He said that Dr. Kalu was in the United States and went back home and if he is a flight risk, he would not have traveled back to Nigeria.

Amakpe Refinery, one of the 18 private sector-championed refineries whose licences were cancelled in March, has had its licence revalidated by the Federal Government. The company has been re-issued its Refinery Construction Licence, technically known as Approval to Construct (APC), which will enable it begin mobilisation of facilities to site for a proposed 12,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery in Eket, Akwa-Ibom State.
