Lucky E. Onoigboria

Born in February 16, 1977, LUCKY EHINOR ONOIGBORIA's journey into creative writing, public commentary and issue analysis began when he was elected Secretary General of his department's association at Ambrose Alli University in 1998. rmed with a degree in Biochemistry in year 2000, he did his mandatory National Service at a Medical Laboratory in Ikeja, Lagos State. The burning passion to contribute his quota to the nation's healthcare delivery system after his service in 2001 was almost frustrated as he could not readily secure a placement of his dream due to the prevailing unemployment problem in Nigeria.

After some months of thorough search, he decided to perch his tent with Brands and Products, a marketing magazine as a Trainee Writer and Marketing Executive. Within six months of intensive training and rigorous marketing activities, his inputs become noticeable. Like the proverbial golden fish that has no hiding place, Lucky's contribution soon got to the notice of the management team who in their wisdom decided to second him to the Special Project Unit as a Special Project Executive with key responsibilities in editorial writing, sourcing for adverts and revenue drive. He was a formidable part of the team that handled the publication of the 2002 Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON)/ National Industrial Standard (NIS)

Awardees that rake in millions of Naira to Brands and Products Magazine. However, his strong desire for his first love in health related environment did not allow him stay, hence his sojourn to Brands and Products Magazine was short lived. He then decided to give a boost to his divine passion by enrolling at the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (NISP). Having been oven baked by NISP, he decided to launch into the deep by taking his new skills to the industrial sector, which was reported by an International Labour Organization's (ILO) publication to be "Work Deadlier than War" (The Punch, April 28, 2005).

Lucky's expertise training in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management was further consolidated when he recently joined the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) in order to equip himself with some uncommon managerial and leadership skills. Despite his busy schedule as a Safety Professional with key interest in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Risk Management, Fire Safety, Water Treatment and Environmental Protection, he still finds time to articulate his views on the pages of newspaper and other media on socio-economic, political, religious, safety issues etc, particularly as it affects the well being of the common man and humanity in general.

Another answer to prayers to serve and better the lots of Nigerians came on Saturday, August 13, 2005 when he was elected the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Branch of NISP, a position he currently occupies.
His hobbies include good music, football, reading, writing and traveling (he now prefer trekking due to the recent mishaps in the transportation sector -a joke). Lucky is passionate about the knowledge of his creator and service to humanity. He loves teamwork, accept responsibility and quest for challenges but likes calling spade, a spade.
