The excellent writer John Onyeaku in his recent article titled “CHAOS THEORY: YARADUA AND THE REST OF US” states how his Wall Street banker friend observes Nigeria political situation as one that “has the feel of hung jury.” Generally, it feels like so. This is because the FEC(Federal Executive Council) who is supposed to show more prudence in handling the current political logjam, has suddenly become cheerleaders in order to keep their jobs while the country continues to smolder and roast.

African women have suffered. May God make a day for their freedom and development. Amen. But O African women, unite and rise to make a change in your destiny! The incessant genocides in Plateau state, which started since 1999, led to loss of thousands of lives and teeming number of refugees (widows & orphans). » The Plateau Crucible (3) By Aliyu U. Tilde
By ChatAfrik Contributor | Published 03/6/2010 | Nigerian Affairs | Unrated
In the concluding part of this series, I intend to discuss ethnicity as it manifested its ugly face in the recent conflict in Plateau State. I will not hesitate to say that I am not a supporter of ethnic identity as a basis for determining the rights of citizens because subscribe to the universality of mankind, believing that no one is superior to another except by conduct. Employment of ethnicity in the construction and determination of public matters has always resulted in heinous consequences.
» When Akunyili reeled the nation : By Muhammad Ajah
By ChatAfrik Contributor | Published 03/5/2010 | Nigerian Affairs | Rating:
The Minister of Information and Communications, Professor Dora Akunyili is not someone that anyone will hear her words and actions without having a deep thought over the splendour in a percentage of humanity as a whole and woman folk in particular. Those who have known this woman in Nigerian politics will believe with the writer that she has been so consistent in her efforts to affect a positive change in the system. One thing in her method of tackling issues is the mixture of stringency, bluntness in serious national issues and humanity even in the midst of opposition.
» Yar’Adua’s return and matters arising :By Muhammad Ajah
By ChatAfrik Contributor | Published 03/2/2010 | Nigerian Affairs | Unrated
With the return of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Ardua back to Nigeria on Wednesday, 24th March 2010, after a 90 day absence for medical attention in Saudi Arabia, the course of polity in the country has begun to change. First and foremost, we must give praise to the Almighty for bringing our President back to our fatherland, for guiding his vice throughout the long absence, for keeping Nigerians stronger, more united and more politically enlightened, and for all the blessings Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as a people have continued to enjoy amidst envy, jealousy and conspiracies.

By ChatAfrik Contributor | Published 02/24/2010 | Nigerian Affairs | Unrated
Some governors in Nigeria have developed the initiative to allow a child of their own choice to preside over the affairs of the state for a few hours of a day. The child, who is normally selected, by the state governor, for his excellent performance especially in the academic circle, will be allowed to exercise the constitutional powers of the governor for the period. Few governors are noted for this gesture and they seem to enjoy it every year.
» Our Next Frontier :by Kingsley Omose

By any stretch of imagination we cannot conclude that those who have lost out in the leadership vacuum saga will fold their arms now that Jonathan Goodluck is Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
